Twenty-Seven Comal ISD Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

November 12, 2025 - Twenty-seven Comal ISD student athletes signed letters of intent to play the sport of their choice at the collegiate level during the first signing day events of the school year.

As family, friends, coaches and teammates looked on, student athletes from Comal ISD’s five comprehensive high schools signed letters of intent to play their sport at the next level.

A few highlights include three students who signed with military academies: Mayson Thomas from Pieper High School will play basketball at the United States Air Force Academy; Marlee Lightsey from Canyon High School will play volleyball at the United States Military Academy West Point; and Emily Wash from Davenport High School will play soccer at The Citadel.

Congratulations to each of these athletes for achieving their dreams through hard work, determination and perseverance. This day represents a culmination of years of early morning and late-night practices, lessons, wins and losses.
