Welcome to Morningside Elementary

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year.
We are excited to launch the 11th year of Morningside Elementary!
Throughout this school year, staff and students will have the opportunity to learn, practice, and incorporate leadership skills from Steven Covey’s book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The 7 habits focus on the development of the whole child. It is our goal to find and develop the leader within every child that enters our door.  We will be teaching the 7 habits to students, while incorporating ways for your child to use these habits in their everyday life. We want this program to be a united effort, and we can’t do that without you.
Morningside is a wonderful school that has extremely dedicated teachers, exceptional students and committed parents.
I believe in establishing high expectations academically and socially for our students, partnering with parents and community and creating high levels of collaboration amongst staff that result in student success.

My door is always open and I welcome your comments, feedback and ideas!

Celebrating National School Nurse Day, May 6

One of the familiar faces students are missing these days is their school nurse. The one who takes care of that scrape from the playground; the one who takes their temperature when they are not feeling well; the one who makes sure they take their medication if needed; and so much more. Every day is a good day to thank them, but today, May 6, is National School Nurse Day.
