September 16, 2025 - Comal ISD is hosting its annual Dyslexia Awareness Night 6-7 pm. Thursday, Oct. 16, in the boardroom at Comal ISD Support Services building, 1404 IH-35 North, New Braunfels.
Dyslexia Awareness Night is a great opportunity to learn more about dyslexia and how Comal ISD addresses the needs of students identified with dyslexia through the multisensory teaching approach (MTA) program. Comal ISD dyslexia teachers who are certified academic language therapists will share insights from a teacher/parent perspective on how to best support students with dyslexia.
In addition, the evening will include stations led by many of the district's dyslexia teachers. Attendees will have an opportunity to gather information and ask questions at the various stations.
The event will be capped off with recognitions and celebrations as winners of this year’s Kids with heART district art contest are announced.
Families of identified students, families with questions, or any individual who wants to learn more about dyslexia are invited to attend. Children are welcome to join with their parents. Activities will be available for them to enjoy.
