Fifteen student-athletes from Canyon High School and Smithson Valley High School celebrated a big milestone today with families, teammates and coaches. They each signed National Letters of Intent to play the sport of their choice at the collegiate level.
While this year’s National Signing Day events were slightly different due to COVID-19 guidelines, the excitement and pride were still present. This day represents a culmination of years of hard work from early morning until late at night with practice, lessons, wins and losses.
From CHS, eight student-athletes signed letters. They include Alex Bouloubasis, football, Angelo State University; Owen Feagler, soccer, Lubbock Christian University; Andrea Gutierrez, softball, Weatherford College; Dominic Hockley, soccer, Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas; Emma Jubela, volleyball, Tyler Junior College; Elisa Llamas, soccer, Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas; Luke Suarez-Pella, soccer, Lubbock Christian University; and Cameron Welch, football, Texas Lutheran University.
From SVHS, seven student-athletes signed letters. They include David Beck, golf, Schreiner University; Blake Bowman, football, Colorado School of Mines; Reed Evans, wrestling, University of Ozarks; Andrew Fagala, baseball, Curry College; Helene Farris, soccer, University of Texas at San Antonio; Austin Hosier, football, Wagner College; and Owen Page, golf, University of Arkansas at Monticello.
