October is here and we’re seeing lots of pumpkins around town. If you like decorating pumpkins, here is a great activity for you! Choose a character from a book you’ve read and decorate a pumpkin to look just like the character from the book. Any student at MES can participate.
THINGS YOU’LL NEED: a real pumpkin, supplies to decorate it, and the book
WHERE TO BRING IT: Bring the pumpkin and the book to the MES Library. (I will display them together) Your child can use a book from the MES library if we have it.
WHEN TO BRING IT: October 16-30
OTHER THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: You may use paint, markers, glue, paper, feathers, beads, pipe cleaners, yarn, material, ribbon, etc. to decorate your pumpkin.
Please do NOT carve your pumpkin!OTHER INFO: The “Book Character Pumpkins” will be on display in the MES Library until October 31. I will send them home with your child that day. If you would like to see all the pumpkins, please visit the MES Library. Be sure to stop in the office for a visitors pass.
